The 38th Annual Taste of Mobile, hosted by the Mobile Chapter of the Alabama Restaurant and Hotel Alliance, is Tuesday, March 3, 6 p.m. The event will be at the Mobile Marriott, 3101 Airport Boulevard. Proceeds will support a scholarship program for culinary graduates from Murphy High School to achieve higher education in the culinary field.
The New Taste of Mobile will be an evening of fine dining presented by some of the best restaurant and beverage operations in the Mobile and Baldwin County area--an 8-course meal served with an appropriate beverage, according to chair Bill Griffis. The evening will open with arrival appetizers and open bar from 6-6:30 p.m. and dinner will be served at 7 p.m. Tickets are $100 each; a table for 8 is $750.
Griffis said that this year's format is a new one for Taste of Mobile. "The Restaurant Association feels it will be an evening of great dining and a chance to see the culinary skills in our area," he said. Jeremy Weaver from Murphy High School will be present to announce courses with wine and beverage pairings; he'll also answer questions about the program at Murphy, Griffis said.
