On Friday, January 9, members of Alabama Power Energizers, Mobile Chapter, visited Eagle's Landing transitional housing facility for homeless veterans to view the unit the group of retirees sponsored. The apartment is occupied by veteran Curtis Wilkin, who served 14 years in Panama with the U.S. Army.
Wilkin graciously showed the visitors, Chuck Hrabe, Energizers president; Mary Jo Hrabe, secretary and Carolyn Feltus, Energizers/APCO representative, the furnishings the organization's $2,500 donation purchased Also present were Stephen Dahmer, director of Eagle's Landing, and Amanda Gonzales from the Office of Development of Volunteers of America South East, parent organization of Eagle's Landing.
Several additional units recently opened at Eagle's Landing, and Dahmer said that one of the immediate needs of the clients is microwave ovens.
