American Camellia Society’s National Convention is Feb. 15-19 in Mobile, Alabama
The American Camellia Society will hold its 2019 Annual Meeting and National Convention in Mobile over the weekend of Feb. 15-18, 2019. The event is being held in conjunction with the 60th anniversary of the camellia’s official designation as Alabama’s state flower and with the state’s bicentennial celebration.
The public is invited to the ACS Camellia Show in the Arthur R. Outlaw Mobile Convention Center on Sunday, Feb. 17, from 1 to 5 p.m. The Camellia Show will feature demonstrations and lectures on camellia care, flower waxing and grafting. There is no admission fee. Visitors will have the opportunity to purchase camellias at the show, and to join the American Camellia Society.
Several hundred members of the American Camellia Society are expected to attend the Annual Meeting and National Convention. Events include visits to Bellingrath Gardens and Home in Theodore, Mobile Botanical Gardens and Cornerstone Gardens in Mobile, Green Nurseries in Fairhope and Historic Malbis Nursery.
