Citizens for a Better Grand Bay Community Breakfast was Saturday, January 30, and 85-100 attended to enjoy the generous buffet and omelet bar, join in the friendly conversation and learn about events and activities in the Grand Bay-St. Elmo area.
CBGB board members Kimon Brown and Aleta Boudreaux brought attendees up to date on Country Christmas, the future library, senior activities and other events, past and future.
Boudreaux thanked all who helped make Country Christmas a success, and Kathleen Beesley presented a special recognition gift to Esther Nicholson for her particularly hard work.
Boudreaux introduced the new Senior Center site director, Diana Ankney, and announced that approximately 50 seniors take advantage of activities and meals each week day. Another 20 shut ins receive meals delivered to them daily, Monday through Friday.
Among the dignitaries at the event were Sen. Bill Hightower, Mobile County Commissioner Jerry Carl, Rep. Margie Wilcox, Rep. David Sessions, Judge Jill Phillips and former legislator Taylor Harper.
