On March 27, 2018, Foosackly’s of Saraland will host an event to benefit Police Officer Jackie Tucker. Tucker was critically injured when a gunman opened fire when she and other Officers responded to a domestic call right before Christmas in 2016
Officer Tucker barely escaped alive, but her will to live caused her to fight. She spent a full year in hospitals and therapy facilities, and through her fighting spirit has been able to return home.
Even though Jackie Tucker is home and no longer in the news, the struggles still exist. Saraland Police Department asks the public to "Help us as we raise money to aid in her day-to-day life and with all that she has sacrificed and the struggles that persist. We hope to help them purchase a handicap van and upgrade her rehabilitation and medical equipment."
The Department will be selling opportunity tickets for an assortment of prizes. The cost for one ticket is $5 or $20 for 5, and each will come with a gift card for a free Foo Snack. Tickets will be available at State Farm Insurance in Saraland (Agent Laurel Green) and Alfa Insurance in Saraland (Agent Bradley Flowers) or they can be purchased at Foosackly’s of Saraland.
Tickets will go on sale Thursday, March 22, 2018 and the event will be Tuesday, March 27, 2018, with the drawings at 8 p.m.
To area businesses: "You can help by either donating prizes for the drawing, promoting the event via social media, by having one of our event flyers in your business, or by making a cash donation. Every cent collected will go straight to the Tucker family. If you make a donation, your business’ name will be listed as an event sponsor. If you are able to donate a prize for the event, we recommend a gift card or product from your business so that the community can see your support."
The public is invited to "join us on Tuesday, March 27th, 2018 as we honor a hometown hero who gave so much for our safety."
Suggested prizes: Yeti cooler; BBQ Sets; Grill; Gift baskets; Fishing, hunting, or outdoor gear; Restaurant gift cards--anything that most people would want.
