On Saturday, February 21, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Greer's Bayou La Batre Market, 13298 N. Wintzell Avenue (824-2213) is hosting a Fish Fry event that will include fish dinners, music, arts and crafts, children's activities and prizes.
Jan Greer Endfinger of Greer's Markets said that fish plates are $4.99 for 1 piece of fish, 2 sides and bread; $5.99 for 2 pieces of fish, 2 sides and bread; and $1 for individual pieces of fish. Sides include potato salad, cole slaw or baked beans. Free tea and a Bayou La Batre cup comes with every order.
Artists and crafters are invited to set up with no booth fee, and local antique auto owners are encouraged to come show off their cars, trucks, fire engines. Music will be by George Ramires and DJs will also be providing tunes.
Children's activities consist of inflatables, a coloring contest, buggy bingo and train rides around the parking lot. Several prizes will be announced that day, including the winner of the coloring contest AND free groceries for a year (This last one will be announced at noon and the winner must be present to receive this Grand Prize.)
