On Thursday, April 12, 5:30 p.m., Historic Mobile Preservation Society's Lecture Series presents "Heroes of the 20th Century," presents Larry Menefee, "Civil Rights: Mobile, the 1970s." The event is at Cox-Deasy House, 300 Oakleigh Place, Mobile.
HMPS describes Menefee as "a native son of Mobile who worked to desegregate our city." He will reveal first-person facts behind his legal cases, cases that changed laws and made history by moving our country closer to equality. Attendees can enjoy a glass of wine and an inspiring lecture, still making it home by 6:30. The lecture is free for members and $10 for non-members.
