"The weather is looking great" for the tournament, Pigg said. And the stakes are high for fishermen and women. Everyone who enters a legal fish will be eligible to win one of two kayaks. For the adult competitors, the prize is a Jackson Cuda 14 and for the junior winner, a Pelican Apex 10.
There's great fun for non-competitors, as well, The band Physical Therapy will play from noon until 4 p.m. "It's free to come by and visit our vendors, eat some great food, listen to the band under the tent and watch us weigh in some great big fish" beginning at 10 a.m., Pigg said.
Vendors scheduled to show and sell their wares or dispense information will be Sweet Tea Boutique, Hittin' Bottom, Mostellar Medical, Horizon Shipbuilding, Anzetta's Jewelry, Daphne's Tupperware, Von's Catering, J and J Cool Treats, Greer's and the Mobile Bay Fishing Kayak Association.
The scales at City Docks will close at 3 p.m. and the awards ceremony will begin at 4 p.m. with Chasity Byrd from Channel 10 and the Seafood Queens giving away the awards.
