It's getting closer! The Festival of Quilts--The Art of Quilting, the 20th biennial quilt show sponsored by Azalea City Quilters Guild, is Friday, April 17, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Saturday, April 18, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. at Mobile Civic Center Expo Hall. More than 300 quilts will be on display. Visitors attending the show will see never-before-exhibited works from more than 200 quilt artists representing members of the Guild.
In addition to creating their own beautiful quilts, the Azalea City Quilters perform several community outreach programs. They estimate that, as a group, they spend about 5,678 hours a year making 100 Project Linus quilts; about 80 Pet Pillows for animal shelters; quilts for St. Mary's Children's Home Auxiliary, Victory Health Clinic and the Methodist Children's Home; several Quilts of Valor and many other activities and projects.
