Chickasaw Civic Theatre's "Smoke on the Mountain" opens on Friday, January 25th and runs weekends through February 3rd. Performances on Friday and Saturday are at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday Matinee is at 2 p.m.. The theater is at 801 Iroquois Street.
The play is directed by Stacey Driskell and features Scott and Sarah Wright, Thomas Rowell, Bill Watts and others.
It is described as a rollicking musical that tells the story of a Saturday Night Gospel Sing at a rural church in North Carolina's Smoky Mountains in 1938. The show includes more than a dozen old-time gospel songs--"I'll Fly Away," "Bringing In The Sheaves," "No Tears I Heaven" and more. It's a great family-friendly show for everyone two to two hundred.
