Lakyn Kyle, a rising sophomore at Mary G. Montgomery High School in Semmes and a resident of the Tanner Williams community, recently competed in and won several majorette competitions.
On April 18, she participated in the Miss Majorette of Alabama Contest in Wetumpka, Alabama; she won the Junior Miss Majorette title (Advanced 13-15 year olds.) And the following month, she won Junior Miss Majorette of the South (Advanced 13-15.)
This last title qualifies Lakyn to compete in the Miss Majorette of America pageant to be held at the University of Notre Dame in July.
Lakyn has been coached by Penny Strickland for the past 5 years and is being advised by Shirley DeVinney.
