On Sunday, May 3, the outgoing Semmes Camellia Maids, Mila Dixon, Paige Warren and Hayleigh Chappell, were honored at an afternoon tea sponsored by Semmes Heritage Park members. The 2013/2014 Maids were presented with charm bracelets and a charm for each year of service as outstanding representatives of their community.
The event was held outside at Semmes Heritage Park, and the setting was perfectly decorated with fresh flowers, linens and greenery, and the honorees and their guests were served traditional Southern refreshments.
Alice Baker served as chair for the Camellia Maids Tea and acts as coordinator for scheduling the Maids' activities and appearances. Other Semmes Heritage Park members who attended and assisted with decorating and refreshments were Carolyn Owens, Betsy Dodd, Mildred Harris, Sarah Wilson, Jeanette Byrd and Diane Moore. Also attending the Tea were 2015 Camellia Maids Briley Kearns and Lydia Smith and the mothers of the Maids.
