President Jamie Warren opened the July 9th meeting of Saraland Area Chamber of Commerce with a welcome to members, guests and visitors. Brother Eddie Holmes of Celeste Road Baptist Church gave the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
TipTop Cleaning was announced as "New Business Spotlight" honoree and McLean's Martial Arts was named "Small Business of the Month July, 2019"
Special Guest Speaker was Vickie Hendrix whose message was that, in early August, Saraland will be hosting the Babe Ruth World Series for 16- 18-year-old players.
Opening Ceremonies, a family event, will be held at Saraland, but tournament games will be played at Jacobs Field at the University of Mobile.
President-Elect Sheron Atwell presented a program, "Making the Connection," which gave members an opportunity to get to know one another. The fun activity was designed in a game-show format.
Shilo Miller, Executive Director, Sarland Area Chamber of Commerce, announced some of the Chamber-sponsored upcoming events.
Among those activities is a discount on vendor spaces for the December 14th Mistletoe Market. The discount continues through July 31.
A Back to School Bash will be held at Rambo's Skateland on July 27. The first 150 children to arrive will receive free backpacks and school supplies. Shilo also announced that the Annual Joint Chamber of Commerce meeting with Chickasaw August 15 will be at J.C. Davis Auditorium instead of Chickasaw School.
Jeff Schmitz, Chairman of the Board closed the meeting with the awarding of door prizes.
