Semmes Camellia Festival, January 24 at Semmes Public Library, will feature beautiful table-scapes among other camellia-inspired exhibits
At the 2014 Semmes Camellia Festival, table-scape designers Pat Thing, left, and Jeanne Bradley showed off their creation to Sen. Rusty Glover. The table cloth of antique lace was dressed in 20 or so camellias (including a couple of Pink Perfections), which were exhibited in containers of different sizes and heights to give dimension to the overall view.
Table-scapes are one of the most beautiful aspects of the Festival, which includes exhibits of dozens of individual camellias, a Camellia Art Show, a display of china plates with paintings of camellias and informational displays.
This year's Semmes Camellia Festival is Saturday, January 24, 10 a.m.-2 p.m. at Semmes Public Library, 9150 Moffett Road at McCrary Road. Call Jeanette Byrd, 649-1647 for additional information.
