The first 2018 luncheon/business meeting of Semmes Chamber of Commerce was held on Wednesday, January 10 at noon.
President Brenda Norris opened the meeting with the introduction of board members. After the invocation and lunch (catered and sponsored by Hickory Pit Too), Norris entertained announcements by several members, including Mayor David Baker, who told of new businesses in Semmes.
Janet Johnson gave a report on membership; Denise Dailey of the City of Semmes gave the status of City-sponsored events; Jeanette Byrd invited the guests to participate in the Camellia Festival January 27 by creating a table-scape and support the event with attendance.
Jason Herring gave an update on the Semmes Azalea Festival March 3rd. Hickory Pit Too was named Business of the Month. In other Chamber news, Brenda Norris said that the February meeting will be February 21.
