Saraland Schools Superintendent Dr. Aaron Milner was Guest Speaker at Saraland Area Chamber of Commerce Meeting September 11th
Saraland Area Chamber of Commerce met Tuesday, September 11 with 75-plus members and guests in attendance.
Pres. Jeff Schmitz welcomed the group after which Pastor Wayne Sheppard of Destination Church gave the invocation and the group said the Pledge of Allegiance.
Students of the Quarter, Lily Harrison, Saraland Elementary School and Saylor Charles, Robert E. Lee School were recognized. The awards were sponsored by First National Bank and Trust. Lunch was catered by Georgia Roussos Catering.
New Business Spotlight was on Saraland Mardi Gras Association. Jon Coster made the announcement that the Mardi Gras Parade will be March 2nd.
Jamie Warren, President-Elect introduced guest speaker, Dr. Aaron Milner, Superintendent of Saraland Public Schools. Dr. Milner gave an up-to-date on the school system's state and progress, including increase in attendance and new facilities being constructed.
Sheron Atwell showed a new project of Saraland Chamber: Little Free Libraries. Shilo Miller, Executive Director of the Chamber, announced upcoming events.
Door prizes were donated by Donna Gatlin of State Farm and J & E Properties.
