As a retired high school counselor, Linda DeWitt Robbins has a natural love for students, which is evident in the way she uses much of her time. She is president of the Satsuma City School Board of Education, and it's a job--a volunteer job--that she treasures. "I want to be part of making this the best school system in the state," she said.
With a special concern for teens, Robbins is involved in programs geared toward making their lives better. For example, she's on the board of Crittenton Youth Services, which, she said, "encourages young people to make wise choices in life." She also serves on a couple of scholarship committees in north Mobile County, rewarding those worthy students who desire higher education.
Robbins is an active worker in the community, as well: She's a member of the Satsuma Public Library Foundation, North Mobile Garden Society, Mobile County Municipal Association and Satsuma Lions Club.
"I love this community," Robbins said of Satsuma. "It's like being a part of one big, close-knit family."
