On June 19, 2014, the Chickasaw Chamber of Commerce announced Robert McFall as Chickasaw Citizen of the Year 2013.
A Chickasaw native, McFall moved back to the north Mobile County village 3 years ago after retiring from a career in the military and civil service. And he hasn't stopped working since to make his community the best place to live.
Among the activities that a judging committee found merited his selection as Citizen of the Year were his work to help establish a Chickasaw City School System, his leadership of the town's Christmas Tour of Homes and his volunteer service with Chickasaw Meals on Wheels.
McFall headed the 2011 team that coordinated Chickasaw's separation from Mobile County school system and has been elected to a 3rd term as president of Chickasaw School Board. With the city, he developed and helped implement the first Employee Recognition Program. And as chair of the Tour of Homes, he helped raise funds to paint Chickasaw's treasured historic schoolhouse.
For these and many other volunteer activities, Robert McFall was named Citizen of the Year, and, as such, will serve as grand marshal of the Chickasaw Christmas Parade on Saturday, December 13 at 3 p.m.
