The August Business Luncheon of SouthWest Mobile County Chamber of Commerce was held on Wednesday, August 7, with Pres. Pete Riehm presiding. Pastor David Gonnella of Magnolia Springs Baptist Church offered the invocation and the group Pledged Allegiance to the Flag. The president recognized new members and commented that the Chamber now has 170 members and the goal is to reach 200 by the end of the year.
Mobile Memorial Gardens Funeral Home sponsored the dinner, and representative Buffy Johnston gave a short presentation on the services provided. The lunch was catered by Olive Garden.
Pres. Riehm introduced Guest Speaker Josh Wood, Executive Director of The Grounds, and Josh told the mission of The Grounds and gave some of its history.
Pres. Riehm recognized the elected officials present--Rep. Margie Wilcox, License Com. Nick Matranga, Com. Jerry Carl, Chickasaw Councilman Adam Bourne, as well as first-time visitors and new members.
Officer of the Month, Robert Walker, was introduced by Capt. Jonathan Lee. Ofc. Walker received a certificate of appreciation and a gift card.
SouthWest Mobile County Chamber now has 170 members. The goal is to have 200 members by the end of the year.

Pres. Riehm mentioned upcoming events including Coffee with the Chamber on August 20, the September 24 Business Expo (to be held at Heron Lakes Country Club this year) and The Corner Market, October 12, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Tillman's Corner Community Center.
