Some of the Christmas events coming up are the following parades, concerts, homes tours, Breakfast with Santa, Open Houses, bazaars, tree lightings, craft shows, toy collections, runs and other events.
+ Bellingrath Gardens and Home celebrates the 20th anniversary of "Magic Christmas in Lights" this year. The holiday tradition lets guests stroll through a dazzling display, which features more than 1,000 set pieces, 3 million lights and 15 scenes throughout the 65-acre Garden estate. In addition, the Bellingrath Home is decorated in its holiday finery and the Gardens are enhanced with hundreds of beautiful poinsettias. The event includes nightly choral performances on the South Terrace of the Home. To warm the heart and body, guests may also purchase hot chocolate on Live Oak Plaza. + Christmas at the Bragg-Mitchell Mansion takes place throughout December. The home at 1906 Springhill Avenue will be decorated in traditional Christmas splendor with group tours and special events scheduled in addition to regular historical tours. + The 5th Annual Lights of Love at University of South Alabama Children's and Women's Hospital is scheduled for Tuesday, December 1, 6 p.m. The lighting of the 45-foot tree will be accompanied by the arrival of Santa and Ronald McDonald. + Semmes Old-Fashioned Christmas at Semmes Heritage Park on Wulff Road is Friday, December 4 at 6 p.m. The children from Indian Springs Baptist Church will sing for the program in Malone Chapel, then everyone is invited to walk next door to the 1902 historic Semmes Schoolhouse and enjoy homemade refreshments by lamplight.

+ The Dauphin Island Christmas Pageant is Friday, December 4, 7 p.m. at St. Edmund's Hall, Dauphin Island.

+ Grand Bay's Country Christmas begins Friday, December 4 with the arrival of Santa on a fire truck.
