The Wild Rumpus Painting Challenge for children aged 6-14 March 13, 3:30-4:30 p.m. at Semmes Regional Library, 9150 Moffett Road.
Children ages 6 to 7 will connect the dots with numbers on a copy of a drawing of Maurice Sendak's Where the Wild Things Are characters. They will then choose to either paint or color the drawing.
Older children, ages 8 to 14, will participate in a grid painting challenge. Each participant will receive a color copy of a page from Where the Wild Things Are. They will then cut up the color copy into small pieces with written numbers on non-print side. Students will pick a square and recreate the image on a 6" X 6" sheet of watercolor paper.
Refreshments will be provided. For more information, call 251-494-4870.
