On Thursday, November 16, 3 p.m., the Rebekah and Matthew Atkinson Duo will present a concert at the James P. Nix Center in Fairhope.
The brother/sister harp/violin duo from Mobile will offer a program entitled "Carry Me Back," which, Rebekah said, "will take listeners on a journey back in time through some of the greatest, most memorable music ever written, such as 'Danny Boy' and 'How Great Thou Art.'"
Through songs like those above and Stephen Foster favorites, the program, she said, will revisit themes of love, faith and family. "We will be revisiting traditions that I think are so important--family mealtimes, praying together, working together, playing together, and making music together, like singing together around the piano.”
Rebekah continued: “Having grown up in a large family (I have 5 brothers), I was fortunate enough to experience these and many other benefits of close relationships from an early age. I know that many other people have similar memories to treasure and we can’t wait to share this program with you all."
The audience should come prepared to sing along, participate in an interactive program and have a great time, Rebekah said. The Atkinson Duo, she said, "are passionate about building relationships with audiences and meeting needs through meaningful music that touches the heart and brings joy to the spirit!"
Admission to the concert is free and is open to the public. For more information, call 251-402-3550 or go to firstname.lastname@example.org.
