On Wednesday, May 13, some 50 volunteers took part in the beautification of the grounds at Eagle's Landing transitional housing for homeless veterans at 6501 Moffett Road near Semmes.
Janet Hyde, Community Liaison for Volunteers of America Southeast (of which Eagle's Landing is a part), said that volunteers were employees of Wells Fargo, Home LLP, Willis Insurance, Home Depot, veterans currently living at Eagle's Landing and VOASE staff members who took the day off to help. "They arrived at 8 a.m. with gloves in hand and ready to work!" Hyde said. Seventy-five pallets of sod were installed.
