This is something I use all the time which is why I'd like to get it right. So I checked on spanishdict which only confued matters; it lists "reunirse con" for meeting by arrangement, but then tp "quedar con alguien" for "to arrange to meet somebody", and doesn't even reference the two ways given by my book.
